Another beautiful day on the TGA tour, as we rolled into Yorkshire for the first ever Yorkshire Open. Last minute pull outs and no shows fortunately left us only 1 below the record turnout of 24 and these 23 golfers would find great difficulty in Aldwark Manors short yet tricky tree lined fairways.
Richard Southam seemed to be in control with a superb 21 point front nine on his way to a share of 3rd place.
Dave smith also grabbed both nearest to the pins for his share of 3rd and Tour Championship leader
Paul Willey turned in 5 pars on his way to even par 36 points for a 3rd share of 3rd. Wearside Open Champion
Ian Manthorp turned in another consistent performance to finish 1 back in runner up spot, with
Antony Dunbar, in his first game of the season, claiming his 4th Tour win with some solid putting on his way to 38 points.
Colin Northmore claimed back the Long Drive crown, and
Ian Sykes, with an impessive 29 points, took home his 2nd 100 club win of the year.
A fantastic day for golf, in a great setting. Great banter, and great company, what more could you ask for on a bank holiday. See you all at Mount Oswald.
